During this year we are working towards earning a Green Flag for being an Eco-School. This is an award accredited by Keep Britain Tidy and involves us doing an audit of how well the school is doing at making a positive impact on climate change. So far this year we have looked at how the school is supporting biodiversity, how we are saving and conserving energy and how we can keep our school community healthy and litter free.
We took part in the RSPB Big Schools Bird Watch.
We have lots of ideas of how to improve our impact as a school community and you will see regular updates and photos in the weekly newsletters. Our newest project involves applying for funding to develop our outdoor area including a container pond and bird feeders (and bird food!).
Before Christmas we encouraged everyone to think less waste and choose wrapping and crackers that were recyclable. We had a go at making Christmas crackers ourselves.
