Y3 Stone Age Poo!
Year 3 had a fun afternoon being archaeologists for our Stone Age topic. The children have been learning about the change in our diets through time and where we source our food.
After a discussion about the uses of primary and secondary sources of evidence, the children were very 'hands on' and investigated some Stone Age (playdough) 'poo' (!) to make conclusions about which era it came from. They found out that Stone Age people foraged for their own food and had many ways of preserving it, some of which we still use today. They recorded their findings in tables methodically and concluded that Stone Age people ate a variety of fruits, berries, seeds, grains and leaves. They also hunted for fish and meat.
We discovered that Stone Age people were not picky eaters and were very resourceful with what they found. Well done Year 3!
