Year 5 are learning about Forces this half term and they conducted an experiment to find out the effect of gravity in making craters. 

The children made a surface using flour and cocoa powder and dropped different size marbles from the same height to see the impact of the crater. They also experimented with different weighted marbles to see what difference that made. It is safe to say the children LOVED this experiment and went home excitedly to share their experience with their families.
