World Book Day
Our aim as a school is to nurture well-read, enthusiastic, insightful and knowledgeable readers. World Book Day is an important part of this aim. This year we celebrated by focussing on the book Flooded by Mariajo Ilustrajo. This exceptionally illustrated story teaches a message not to let problems fester and with a little team work and community spirit, no problem is insurmountable. Mrs O'Connor chose this book as it reminded her of how the St. Andrew's community has pulled together this year in the face of RAAC! All the children and staff came dressed as animals - they were some fantastic costumes. The day involved sharing of books, poetry, drama and a book swap. We hope we inspired the children to carry on reading!
