Mrs Spilling (Science lead) and Mrs Waring (Computing lead) organised a whole-school STEM day! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. We had two STEM ambassadors come into school to take part in some exciting activities with us. 

Teigan Crisp told the children about her job in the defence industry, explained what engineering means and spoke to the children about what electrical and electronic engineering systems she has been involved in. One of these was the horizon camera used on BBC's Springwatch! Their final challenge was to get involved in two engineering projects of their own. 

Barry Wood introduced the children to the concept of engineering and its evidence in  virtually everything around us. He spoke about the International Space Station, the importance of magnets in motors and their impact on so much of our everyday life.
