One of the children's favourite songs to sing is 'Spring Chicken' and thanks to the generosity of the JSA, this song became a reality in Year 5 this term. As part of their Science topic, Life Cycles, Year 5 received some fertilised chicken eggs from a local company called Our Garden Hens. Using our 'chick-cam', we were able to record the chicks hatching and watch them grow very quickly over a two week period. Some of the children even got to watch a chick hatching infront of their eyes at lunchtime! This is always an exciting experience for Year 5 and I think you can tell from the photos how much they loved this experience. The chicks are now heading back to the farm, where they will be sold on to households for breeding!
