At St. Andrew’s, we believe that every child can be successful in mathematics. We give all children the opportunity to shine as they learn to solve problems; develop ways of looking at patterns; discover efficient strategies and make links between the different areas of mathematics and the wider curriculum. Our teaching aims for all children to become confident and competent mathematicians who are able to apply their mathematical knowledge creatively and to a wide range of contexts. We want children to recognise that mathematics is not restricted to the classroom; it is present in every aspect of their lives.
