Year 2 to Year 3 admission applications 

If your child is in Year 2 at an infant school, you can apply for a place at Hatfield Peverel, St Andrew's Junior School for your child to join in Year 3. Please check the local authorities website for further information on how to apply for a place and deadlines for when you need to submit your request (usually between November and January).

Transition process

We make every effort to ensure the smooth transfer of children from their previous school. Parents of our new intake will be invited to a meeting at the school during the summer term. A further opportunity to look round the school will be offered during the open evening in the summer term.

During the Summer term, the children at Hatfield Peverel Infant School visit the school at playtimes, watch assemblies and meet their teachers.

The two schools have established many links. We hold training days and staff meetings together, and we take every opportunity to work collaboratively, so we can develop our approaches to teaching and so ensure continuity in the delivery of the curriculum and the assessment of pupils.

Prospective parents are very welcome to make their own arrangements to visit the school and speak to the Headteacher at any convenient time. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.

During the autumn term, the junior and infant schools hold two joint open days for prospective parents which offer the opportunity to tour both schools and meet the headteachers and some governors.  Details of these open days are published in the local press and in school newsletters.
